Our
School caters for the children between the ages of four
and seven. North Petherton is a small town. There is
a strong family tradition with many parents who attended
the school now returning as parents themselves.
At the Age of seven
the majority of children transfer to North Petherton
Junior School, which is a separate school built on the
same campus. Liaison with the Junior school is a high
priority and every effort is made to ensure a smooth
transfer when children move on.
In October 2005
the School had a very successful Ofsted inspection,
Teaching and Learning
is good as shown by the good progress made by pupils'
over the years…in Year 2 it is outstanding. Much thought
has been given to providing boys and girls with activities
which excite their attention and motivate them to learn
and do their best".

In 2006 we received
the Basic Skills Quality Mark for the second time, for
our delivery of Literacy and mathematics. In 2007 we
were also awarded Healthy Schools Status for the second
time. We have also achieved the Bronze Eco Schools Award,
Active Mark 2007 for providing two hours of quality
P.E. each week and the Artsmark Award, for our ongoing
contribution towards The Arts.
Our School is located
in a quiet residential area in North Petherton. We are
fortunate to enjoy a secure, spacious, green and tree
filled site in extensive grounds, with two playgrounds
and a large field. We have recently developed an outside
classroom, with an exciting trail. We hope to complete
this with a sensory garden later in the year.
Currently, our
school consists of five classrooms, a hall, a library,
a mobile computer suite, two practical areas, a large
conservatory for Foundation Stage children, and administrative
offices.
